Questions
What fees does Mercari charge sellers?
A 10% selling fee on the item price plus any shipping the buyer pays, for listings created or updated since January 6, 2025. There's no separate payment processing fee for sellers. Listing is free.
Does Mercari charge fees on shipping?
Yes. When the buyer pays for shipping, the 10% selling fee is charged on the item price plus that shipping. If you offer free shipping, the fee is on the item price only, but the label cost comes out of your earnings.
What does the buyer pay?
Buyers pay a Buyer Protection fee of 3.6% of the item price and shipping at checkout. It doesn't come out of your earnings, so it isn't in this calculator.
What does it cost to cash out?
Direct deposit to your bank account is free. Instant Pay to an eligible debit card costs $3 per cash-out, up to $600 a month.
What about listings from before January 6, 2025?
Mercari says listings created before January 6, 2025 have no selling fee until they're updated, and that it updates old listings automatically. This calculator uses the 10% fee.
